Work hours

                                                                                       


                              Hey Everypony, so i finally got that call i was waiting for and i start with orientation at my new job on Thursday. So starting then i will be posting only in the mornings and evenings on work days (at least until i get my iPad in which i can also add in my break). I don't know the exact dates or hours, but i will know by the end of Thursday and will make another update to finalize my posting schedule. None workdays will be post's whenever i can.

great shakes at drawing since i am more of a photographer, but i have been using gimp

to take still images from the show and put funny lines in them to make them more funny. 

                                                                                 

Applejack Month?

                                                                                     


             It seems this whole month has been nothing but Applejack. While agree it is nice to see her have some more airtime, i think we need to see a bit more of the other mane character's. Or maybe even a Big Macintosh episode, he has not had one yet but both Apple bloom and Granny Smith have. Personally i want to see more Rainbow Dash.

Season 2 almost over?

                                                                                     


                                    Sadly it's been made official, we are nearing the end of season 2. I believe we are about halfway through it already. Also at the beginning of the season it was rumored that season 2 would be shorter then season 1. If that is true then we might be in for a spring time season ending rather then a summer one. Let's hope we have longer then we fear.

                            However in order to compensate for that long hiatus of pony episodes coming up, i will be tracking down and posting a whole lot of podcast, fanfics, comics, and fan made videos for your enjoyment during the long summer and or spring months of no ponysodes. If you have any you would like to suggest, send feel free to send them to me.

                            Though the seasons not over yet everypony, so save the tears for later, for now let's enjoy some more pony episodes.

                   Greetings everypony, so how many of you pony fans are also Mythbusters fans? Well so am i, and too that i am adding a new part to Canterlot Weekly called Mythbusters-Equestria. What will happen is you send in myth's about the show My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic, or about the brony community, and i will put them to the test. This will be a weekly event every Friday.                    Good morning Everypony. So i just got a message form the guys over at ObsessionIsMagic, to confirm that our affiliate partnership is still on. They just decided to wait till today to put everything up, So soon everything should be set up.

                   Now for my new viewers from OIM, welcome to Canterlot Weekly. You may have noticed a bit of confusion about the name of this site. It was originally Magic Is Friendship but it was to close to the name of the show and i was getting complaints so i had to change it. Regardless it is still the same website it was, well with a few changes. As well as posting updates on here i will be accepting Fanfics, artwork, comics, and more that EQD refuses to put up. That way everypony has a chance to shine. The only rule i have is no clopfic's, but besides that anything goes. Yes that includes cupcakes material.(i am soooo going to regret this).

                   Also this site will not be limited to just My Little Pony, but will also be doings stuff for Mythbusters, Doctor Who, Phineas and Ferb, and any other interesting shows that pop up. Gives more of a diverse atmosphere and audience.

Social Anxiety and Ponies

                                                                                 

                       Hey everypony, i would just like to talk about something that i noticed is a big part in the brony community. Several people, myself included in this, who have a hard time dealing with social situations, have found a sort of peace and an outlet for stepping out of there shell through this community and the show My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. Many people dealing with Autism, Social Anxiety, or just very shy and nervous around people. The list goes on for miles really.

                      If you just do a quick Google search for how i became a brony, you will find dozens of testimonies of people saying things like, i never really hung out with people before until i find this fandom, or i never really had much in the way of friends before i became a brony. The pure fact that this show and community has helped so many people with social problems in so many ways, just goes to show how amazing it is.

                  Many people dealing with this would rather spend most of their day holed up indoors by themselves. However thanks to this community, many of them are now stepping out of their comfort zones to go to brony meetup's and parties. Some starting ones on their own. This influence which is world wide, could very well be the beginning of the cure for things like Autism and Social Anxiety Disorder.

                  So being of this Social Phobia genre myself, and a brony, i thought i would put out something of my own to help other people with there social phobia while enjoying the wonderful world of ponies. Thus forth Canterlot Weekly will be putting out tips for those with Social Phobias to help them in awkward social situations. I am also willing to accept some from others if they wish to share.

               So some of you may notice from my previous post that there has been a slight name change. I had named this blog Magic Is Friendship before this but felt unsatisfied with the name. This one is sooooo much better and at least 20% cooler (\^3^/)

BeatleBrony

                                                                                     

               Salutations everypony. So how many of you here are massive Beatles fans like me? How many of you are massive Pony fans? (ok that last one was stupid why else would you be here if you weren't a pony fan?) Anyway a group from YouTube have decided to cross these two popular fandom together, and they have done a bang up job i might add.

              What they do is take Beatles songs and make pony cover's of them. They are amazing musicians two and i can tell they love what they do. The channel is a collab channel between several different bronies. Poni1Kenobi, Equestria Dude, DreamHuk, Osoth, Bloomberg, Hoofert, SonicSuns, qdBrony, and Draginite.
They also have there own personal channels you should check out as well. Some of the songs they have covered are Rarity (Yesterday) Two of us, He's a Tortoise (She's a Woman), Dashie in the Sky With Diamond's (Lucy in the Sky with Diamond's), She Saw That Rainboom There (I Saw Her Standing There), and many others. My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic-The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000

                                                                                 


               Howdy Everypony. So it looks like i manged to get the review in before i have to go after all :D. So Season 2 episode 15, the super speedy cider Squeezy. Premise behind the episode is it is Cider season for Sweet Apple Acres, but they can never make enough for every pony in Ponyville. Then the Flim Flam brothers come in to town with there Super speedy Cider Squeezy, and challenge the Apple Family in a contest for their farm. However makes the most Cider wins. I am not going to give everything a way of course, but the ending is quite dramatic.

               A lot of people have been waiting for a full Applejack episode for a while, and after the disappointment from the last one with Derpy taking the spotlight, i think this one more then made up for it. One thing i really liked about it, is it goes into more detail about Big Macintosh's character. Something we have not seen much of in the show. The beginning scene is also hilarious although at one point questioning in it's moral humor.

             All in All i give this Episode an 8 out of 10. We finally got an Applejack and more Macintosh, and it went into detail about how much of an importance Sweet Apple Acres has in Ponyville. Though one disappointment i had is Derpy was there but did not speak. COME ON DERPY WE KNOW YOU CAN SPEAK NOW!!!!!! I mean come one, you did it before it can't be that hard to make it a reoccurring thing.

Possible Saturday Posting Delay

                                                                                   

Hey Everypony, wow when i said i would be cranking out with the post i really meant it :D, anyway, tomorrow is the airing of the next episode of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic. Can i hear a Oh Yeah. It will also be when i am going to be posting some music and possible voice over videos for my YT account. However i will be going out of town for a while in the afternoon, so unless i get at least one of them done before around noon, do not expect them until sometime later in the evening. Same goes with post on here. But i will try to get them both up sometime in the evening tomorrow. Can't wait for the new  Episode, i believe it is going to be a Rainbow Dash one.

Friendship Is Immortal

                                                                             

                  Greetings Everypony. I have noticed that many ponies on here have expressed there fear of mlp fim eventually being cancelled and the brony community we all love vanishing. I would like to vanquish that fear for good. First off please note that while yes Lauren Faust has stepped down from the head of the show she is still on there as an advisory, also the new head of the show has kept with Lauren's original vision for the show to a point.

Now there have been many shows in the past that have broken the barrier into immortality on TV and online. Some classic examples would be Star Trek, Batman, Spider-man, Doctor Who,  and Scooby Doo. All of these shows have been around for years. Some of them longer then we have, yet they are still around. What happens is when a show or movie reaches a point where it's fandom always keeps regenerating (to use a Doctor Who reference) the show simply keeps regenerating as well to keep up with the times. This is how i believe MLP FIM will become.

The show has long since surpassed the immortal mark, gathering a massive amount of mostly adult male fans (and quit a few females fans as well) in only one year, as well as becoming one of the biggest internet fandom's yet. You can also find stories of people lives who have been changed by merely watching the show and becoming part of the fan-base. It has also shaken the gender norm, and become a spokes show about how it is okay for guy's to like cartoons like my little pony. Star Trek itself had a similar notion. In those days it was very uncommon for someone who is not only black but a woman to be in the control room of a ship, or in charge of a part of the ship. Yet Star Trek had Uhora (forgive me if i misspell that) who was both black and a woman, yet working as a translator in the control room of a ship. Also she was treated as equal to everyone else in the show and not as inferior as most of society treated black woman in those days. This had a huge impact in Star Treke's success, as well as my little ponies.

So To make my point, stop worrying about when the show will end. because it won't ever end. It may change with the years, and characters may come and go, but the show it self, like friendship, is forever.

Derpy Hooves now official canon!!!

                                                                       

Greetings everypony, well it finally happened. after a long while of waiting, the people of my little pony friendship is magic have finally made Derpy an official character of the show. In the most recent episode season 2 episode 11 the final rodeo, Derpy is seen in the start of the episode helping Rainbow Dash decorate the town to send off Applejack to a rodeo. During the scene Derpy get's her first big speaking lines, and is official called Derpy by Rainbow Dash.

This acknowledgement will be one of happy tidings to all the massive Derpy Hooves fans, who have been waiting from the start for this to happen. Since her second appearance on the show in feeling pinkie keen, fans have been waiting with baited breath for Derpy to be made official, and now that time has come.

The only question now is will this be a once in a while thing, or will Derpy be a more appearing part in the main six's adventures, and will she be given more and more speaking lines as time comes. There were quite a mix of opinions on Derpy's voice acting. Some thought it was spot on while others thought it was unfitting, making her seem retarded. But seriously, she has cross eyes, i think that is exactly how she should sound.

I wish good luck to Derpy and i hope to see her more in the coming episodes, and with more speaking lines.

Congrats EQD for 100,000,000 hits

                                                                               

So Equestria Daily has just passed 100,000,000 hits on their site. Congrats to everypony behind the site, and to everypony who post there. I have been going on their daily since i found the site back in October 2011. I just wish less of the fanfics would be grim-dark, and there would be more comedic and adventure stories.
